Former First Lady Michelle Obama is quoted as saying, “Eventually, I just got tired of always worrying what everyone else thought of me.  So, I decided not to listen.” She stopped reacting to the real or perceived opinions of others. She achieved something most women haven’t.

Over eons, women have been conditioned to see and present ourselves in certain ways.  We push against established norms each time we consciously choose in favor of our own self-perception, instead of the perceptions of others. While we may feel uncomfortable favoring our own self-knowledge, doing so requires courage.  It’s a positive sign of change and growth.

Women, we are evolving!  More and more, we own our strengths and claim our seat at the table.  We are more willing to stand up and stand out.  We muster the courage to be our authentic self and contribute our unique voice and vision.
