To take a few new steps on your journey to inclusion, journal your responses to the following three questions.  As you write, consider how your behavior might show up in the experience of others who are culturally different from you along any number of dimensions of cultural diversity:

  1. When it comes to inclusion, my habit or comfort zone is… which may cause those around me to feel… and see me as…  
  2. When I’m in a diversity-related situation, out of my comfort zone, feeling uncertain, vulnerable or defensive, my habitual response is to… which may cause others to feel… or see me as… 
  3. To actively foster inclusion where I live and work, I need to…

Reflect on your answers, have conversations about them, see what you learn about yourself.
