PODCAST: Learn From Amazon’s Leadership Principles (Pt 2)
There’s much to learn from the philosophy and approach of one of the world’s most innovative companies. I’m talking about Amazon. Let’s take a quick look at some of the company’s Leadership Principles – the norms that guide day-to-day behavior.
- Earn Trust. Leaders listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully. They are vocally self-critical, even when doing so is awkward or embarrassing.
- Deep dive. Leaders operate at all levels, stay connected to details, audit frequently and are skeptical when metrics and anecdotes differ. No task is beneath them.
- Frugality. Accomplish more with less. Constraints breed resourcefulness, self-sufficiency and invention.
- Insist on the highest standards. Leaders have relentlessly high standards. They continue raising the bar and driving their teams to deliver high quality processes, services, and results. They ensure that defects get fixed and stay fixed.
