Be Greatful for the Little Things
Regularly, I travel to my clients in New York City. Most often, I drive. While I would prefer to take the bus or train, their schedules seldom coincide with mine. Luckily, I like to drive. It’s quiet, meditative time for me. It gives me an opportunity time to slip out of the routine thinking of my analytic mind and move into a deeper, more meditative state. I relax as I notice natural sights – like trees, wild flowers, wildlife, the light.
On a recent trip, I left home at 5:30am and departed the city at 5:30pm. The trip gave me incredible moments of awe as I watched the sun rise and set. It was indescribably beautiful. I thought back over the course of my life, realizing I have witnessed thousands of sunrises and sunsets. And, never have I ever seen the same one twice. Each is always different, unique, special, spectacular, dramatic.
This Thanksgiving, appreciate the awesomeness of nature. Be filled with gratitude for all the simple beauty that surrounds you.
