Glassdoor analyzed data from 12 million job seekers, from April to October of 2018, to understand what technology people use to search and apply for jobs.  They found that job seekers’ use of mobile devices continues to grow, and mobile use is even higher in some categories.

Workers with less formal education and those looking for blue collar jobs in retail, food service, transportation, etc., were the most likely to search using their phones. They surmised that this sector doesn’t have access to computers during their workday, so they rely on their phones.  They found that job seekers in areas like accounting, law, biotech and software development were less likely to search using mobile devices than their blue-collar counterparts.

Mobile job seekers face lots of obstacles like clunky sites and trouble uploading files.  So, if your job posting system isn’t mobile friendly, you could be missing good candidates.
