Whether you’re the big boss, a middle manager, or an employee on the frontlines working to advance business goals, you can increase cooperation and support by being transparent about what you’re doing and why.

Target the content of your WHAT and WHY story so it’s audience appropriate.  Solicit feedback from key stakeholders and keep them in the loop.  Your range of impact is probably broader and deeper than you realize, so make a list of those whose day-to-day work will be affected; those not in the center of the action, but who have a role to play in making it work; and, of course, project sponsors and other stakeholders who have a vested interest in the process and outcomes.

Whether performing daily tasks or implementing initiatives that drive change, success requires the buy in of a multitude of others.  Generate support and cooperation through greater transparency.
