A recent McKinsey Global Institute report says trends in e-commerce, remote work arrangements and automation will result in large numbers of workers needing to find new jobs and acquire new skills.  The groups most impacted will likely be low-wage, hourly workers in frontline service roles, in industries that involve customer interaction — travel, restaurants and hotels, warehousing and factories, and computer-based office work — groups already pummeled by the pandemic.

McKinsey says these changes are driven by COVID-induced shifts to remote work, virtual meetings, expanded use of e-commerce and increased digital engagement across industries — from delivery by your favorite restaurant to video appointments with your doctor.

So, more and more, businesses, large and small, are relying heavily on technology and artificial intelligence.  The next normal is emerging.  How will it impact the people who have been the heart of your business?
