Having the right people in the right roles is critical for optimal business results.  Today’s fast-moving business environment leaves no room for employee stagnation.  High performing leaders actively assess their teams to ensure they’re positioned to maximize their contribution.  Here are three easy questions to ask yourself as you assess your staff.  

  • Who delivers at or above expectation?  What do you need to do to acknowledge their performance, encourage greater results, or find new opportunities that will keep them engaged?  
  • Who needs to improve and in which areas?  What kind of action plan needs to be developed to address their specific shortfalls?  What resources can you devote to making this person your next rising star?
  • Who is still not making sufficient progress, in spite of ongoing coaching and development efforts? Is it time to counsel them and support their transition to more suitable work?
