For the past 81 years Harvard has been conducting “The Study of Adult Development” to answer one question.  What keeps us happiest as we go through life?  The answer:  good relationships.

Inc.com contributor Scott Mautz took a look at what gets in the way of good relationships. The demands and distractions of work are becoming more and more intrusive, making it harder to maintain high quality, life-enhancing relationships.  He says, if work is getting in the way of your valued relationships, it might be time to redefine what success is for you.

He says that if your idea of success starts and ends with nurturing relationships, then re-prioritize everything else. Things that go by the wayside to make room for the people you care most about and who make your life better will seem trivial by comparison.
