As companies prepare for fall reentry to the workplace, many employees are excited by the prospect.  And many others are not all comfortable with the idea.  Mostly, they’re anxious and concerned about potential health risks.

If you’re stressing over returning to the physical work environment, here are a few considerations to keep in mind:

  • For starters, have no shame about how you’re feeling.  Be honest with yourself about your level of anxiety.  If you have a therapist, or level-headed confidant, talk it out with them as your listener and witness.
  • Connect with colleagues in a social setting before your return date.  Refamiliarize yourself with what it feels like to be in the company of those you haven’t seen for a while.
  • Continue self-care practices that helped you destress and feel grounded during the pandemic.  Make them a constant ally.
