Life Coach Lesson: Dig Deep and Finish The Year Strong
The relaxed pace of summer is, essentially, behind us. Fall is nearly here. Hard to believe, but true. It’s time to refocus on “work” – whatever your age and stage in life.
For the kids, its back to school. If you’re in the responsible adult category, you may feel called to re-engage with the particular details of your life – whether it’s taking care of family, furthering your career, completing projects you let slide, or maybe even stepping up your service to others through volunteer activities. Perhaps there is a health goal or some other milestone you intended to accomplish, but haven’t yet achieved.
Pull out those plans you made at the start of 2013. Dust off your New Year’s resolutions and assess your progress. Get clear about what you have accomplished and what still needs to be done. Why? Because, in a way, fall marks the beginning of the end – the end of the year, that is. We’re less than a month away from the start of the last quarter of 2013, so now is a good time to take stock on your progress towards your 2013 goals and commitments.
Decide where setting an intention to dig deep and finishing strong would be most beneficial. Once you clarify your focus, take the all-important step of creating your action plan. Put this year’s remaining goals in writing and attach “complete by” dates. Break big goals down into manageable pieces. Then, get busy and make it happen.
Renewing your focus and re-energizing your commitment to finish strong will help you end 2013 with a wonderful sense of accomplishment which can really boost your self-confidence.
