Learn to Reduce Stress Like Returning Vets
If you want to reduce the impact of stress in your life, take a lesson for our women and men returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Through partnership with Project Welcome Home Troops, Emma Seppala and her colleagues at the University of Wisconsin–Madison have been helping veterans deal with post-traumatic stress syndrome and calm their hyper-alert nervous systems through the use of yoga postures and yogic breathing. Study participants report sleeping better, feeling more relaxed and less anxious, and experiencing more positive emotions.
So, if you’re feeling stressed – in the workplace or at home – take a lesson from our veterans. Click here for a link to the full Spirituality & Health article.
