Others See More In Us Than We See In Ourselves

Abraham Lincoln once said, “I’m a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn’t have the heart to let him down.”

Sometimes, when we are blind to our own talent and potential, others see our gifts and believe in us. It’s easy to lose sight of the amazing ways we can impact the world.

People who speak encouraging words are put in our path to remind us who we really are and what we can achieve. We can help ourselves by believing them. We can use their perception of the greatness that lies within us to drive out fear, self-doubt, worry and frustration. Another’s faith in us has a way of helping us overcome our sense of defeat or of smallness.

Although we praise people we view as self-motivated, there is no shame in achieving goals because you don’t want to let someone down. If that’s what it takes to move you forward, honor it and use it to your advantage.
