You know how critically important credibility and trustworthiness are in relationships.

Interaction by interaction, your credibility and trustworthiness are established in the minds of others.   In the micro-movements and subtle energy of day-to-day exchanges, your reputation is built and reinforced. People hear what we say, but more importantly, they notice what we do. If your words and actions are aligned, you’re apt to be experienced as trustworthy. If you’re true to your word, you’ll be seen as credible.

If your reputation needs repair, start simply. Don’t put up a false front. Be honest about what you can and can’t do, will and won’t do. Promise only what you intend to do, and then do it. If something gets in the way of fulfilling the commitment, inform those to whom the promise was made. Establish a new agreement and live up to it. Keeping promises, and aligning what you say with what you do, are key to a good reputation.
