Each of us is motivated by something different. For some people, it’s money. Others love the attention their accomplishments draw. There are those who get a thrill from the chase, or the heart pounding excitement of facing down fear. Still others achieve because they want to impress others, or at least not disappoint them.

Each of us has our unique reasons for pushing through. If you don’t know what your reasons are, here’s a simple question that may reveal your motivational forces. Think about the last time you did something you feared, or that was beyond your self-expectations, or that you are still extremely proud of. Ask yourself, “Why?” Answer honestly.

It’s important to understand your personal drives and where they come from.   Then you can consciously choose to create the conditions you need to propel you to be your best self on a consistent basis.
